April 11, 1865, Ka Mōʻī Kamehameha V, Lot Kapuʻaiwa, created the Royal Order of Kamehameha I. The Order went underground at the overthrow in 1893, only to be resurrected in 1902 by Ke Aliʻi Jonah Kūhiō Kalanianaʻole.
